Red Rocks Trail – near the Amphitheater

Red Rocks Trail – runs north-south of the amphitheater. This is part of the Matthews/Winters Open Space area. Located between I-70 on north to Red Rocks Amphitheater on the south.
A couple of rocky sections are hike-n-bike. Overall a great trail with great views out towards the plains and the Dakota Ridge hogback is below for most of the ride. The North end trail head is busy as it is right off the I-70 exit. Hikers and pedestrians seems to stay around the first mile, then it thins to only those going the whole trail.

Just 10 feet to the left, is a 100ft cliff drop-off.
Typical trail conditions. Several areas are very rocky making them black diamond rated. But easy to hike. Dakota Ridge hogback in distance.
